One of my friends is building a chopper with a spare XB9S motor that he has and painting it all white. I have a 12R and we want to switch cases. I would rather have black since I'm blacking out much of my bike, and the mag covers will be a lot easier for him to paint white than the black ones that are on there. Does anyone know if there will be any fit issues since the cases are from a 12 and a 9? Thanks for the input.

That is what I thought, but I didn't want to go through the trouble of both of us taking everything off without checking. Thanks for the help X1! The transformation to blacked out continues. Now I just need to do my wheels, fork tubes and triple tree. My frame and swingarm is already painted black. I think it is going to look bada**!

I would not be so sure on that one. I know there are 2 different gaskets and I believe it is a difference in years- like 03' to 05' I do not know for sure though, I think I would test fit before painting begins...

We will check it before any painting happens. His engine is an 03 Lightning and mine is an 04 Firebolt.
