Should be pretty easy.
The extra bolt,I think it the one that is for the front mount?
The D+D uses it instead on a strap clamp in the front.

Try a search on this web site for D&D install. There was a pretty detailed thread on this subject that I used when I installed mine. It was pretty simple, just take your time though.

It comes with one rear clamp. I suggest using two.

You will be fine until Al gets one to you.I'm only running the one that came with it without problem but the extra would be a nice extra measure.

What Dana said....it's an insurance thing. As Wyckedflesh can tell you, an exhaust coming off a Buell can be much worse an event than one falling off a japanese sportbike. T-bolt clamps have broken. Having two there just strikes me as a good idea. Buell thinks so too, that's why they come with two.

Not that I totally disagree with running 2 clamps on the D+D( I didn't double clamp Kandie's and am not worried in the least) but,to compare what happened to Wycked to a properly installed D+D that is made for an XB is not really fair either. It was not the back of the muffler that broke and hit the ground on Wycked's V+H,made to fit an XB muffler. This not a bash on Wycked. He bought a muffler for a tuber off Ebay, made it fit the XB and it didn't turn out too good.
But to compare the muffler he had break and where it broke and a D+D and how many straps you should have on it is BS.
The strap clamp that comes with a D+D is also sturdier than the 2 stock ones that come from the factory.

Maybe, but I've seen several failed T-bolt clamps. I run two. I would run it with one if that's all I had, but I'd still be getting a second one for it if I was in that situation. My point was not to compare the D&D to Wycked's muffler, but rather to point out that the location of Buell mufflers makes failure a more significant event than on a side or underseat mounted muffler design. If they come off, you run over them. If they come off the wrong way, they launch the bike.

Well for it to come off the bike the strap clamp would need to break, the bolt at the front mount would need to break and the clamp where it hooks to the header would need to lose it's clamping on the header.
I am pretty sure you'd feel, hear or somehow know about it before the muffler just "fell" off the bike. I know I would.

Be extra careful if you want,I have no problem with that but I sell a lot of D+D pipes too and I don't double clamp them. If it was an ongoing issue with mufflers falling off all over the highway you'd think D+D would be aware of it and maybe include the second clamp in the kit?

Well then Dave did ya get that off your chest did ya?? I don't have the extra either on mine but I don't think its a bad idea either.Kinda like safety wiring everything on your scoot just for the extra measures.

Buell T-bolt clamps have broken, but just take a look at what the FM asks you to torque them up to...no wonder...

The problem with re-using a Torca clamp is that you may not get a perfect factory fit the second or subsequent time around, due to the splines on the spacer. It's not normally a problem when removing and refitting the same muffler, but can be a real pain if fitting a new different muffler.
