clear coating polished metal can be tricky. It can be hard to get the clear to stick to the hard metal, and even then a lot of clears will yellow because the UV does not get absorbed by the paint. Kind of like what you see on some silver paint jobs. Clear coating polished metal should be done by a pro for best results.

On the flip side, what would it take to "black out" the frame?

No need to clear coat. The bike is really pretty easy to keep looking good after the initial polish job. I know a lot of people here will say that you have to spend a lot of time cleaning to keep it looking good. That just isn't true. Five minutes with a rag and some mothers metal polish is all it takes.

Can I interest anyone in a polished catch can? I only have one that's polished - the rest are going to be black anodized. Go to the accessories section of www.kdfab.com for more details.

Hey Captain Planet,
Still lookin' for you to come out to Dirty's some Thursday night and show-off that beautiful XB! I'll be there tonight with a fully "bagged-out" demo Ulysses from the dealership.
