Sport,
I just took the muffler off my Uly. Thanks to suggestions from others on this board, I did not have to loosen the pinch bolts or the axle. Just take the belt cover off and you can reach the rear band clamps with a 1/4" extension and 7/16" deep well socket. When you re-install you can slide the rear band clamps to the side for easier access.

Thanks Dave. This is awesome. I got a sneaky suspicion my wife is gonna get me a spec ops pipe for christmas!! So I was gonna do it step by step exactly as the Manual and I wasnt looking forward to loosing the rear whel unless absolutely needed. This helps out alot. One more question though the bike is obviously still pretty new 16oo miles. I was wondering if the front torca clamp and the front muffler strap still needed to be replaced with it being so new? Or if these clamps are a one time use clamp the looses its integrity after it is tightened down? Any suggestions?

Sport, get the manual. It will save you many headaches in the future if you ever need to do anything to the bike. Also, follow everything the manual tells you.

They are a "one time use" clamp.
I'd replace it just to be safe.
