I think the brittle foot pegs on my 12S saved me from more damage today after my flying lesson. Grabbed a handful of front brake to avoid rear ending a car and you all know what comes next. Yeah thats me unceremoniously unseated over the bars with me and the bike led in the road.
From this 0 speed drop ( by this time I had wings) it looks like the front peg took the brunt and snapped clean off. The only other damage was a broken indicator, couple of marks on the clutch case behind the shift lever, a weeping inspection cover gasket and the bar end. Oh and dented pride.
So my Christmas list now has frame protectors and axle sliders added!!!!
Does any one have a good color match for 12 cases so I can cover the marks and stop the case growing a fur coat?

Sounds like you made out pretty good. It is bad to hurt your bike and your pride but it does not hurt near as bad as skin and bones.

Hate to hear that anyone "fell off" of their bike. Glad you are still here to tell the tale.

Thanks guys,
I was lucky as I always wear decent gear and bounce well just a few bruises. Also the car on the inside pulled up before squashing me a i was led in his lane!
It was fun riding home with no left peg though.
Now just have to buy a few bits to get it back on the road properly.

Glad to hear you were wearing your gear too. To a certain extent you make your own luck (in that regard).

I remember Shazam doing a track day this year, broke his right peg off early in the day. He rode several sessions after that with just the stub of a peg.

It was easy to tell where he was on the track (Heartland Park). Thant monster motor with the force pipe made it's presence known.
