Newbie here? About to replace rear D207 with D208. Searched buell website for exact fit and it gave the d208m model #. Started searching online and came across the d208zr tire. What is the difference. And may go to 190 rather than 180. Any info will help on the tires.

The different manufacturers that use the 208 from the factory have different individual specs for the tire with different suffixes. It may be heavier, lighter, or whatever. the "z" is a speed rating.
You'll probably only be able to get the "m" from an H-D/B dealer.
The 190 has adverse effects on of the bike. It slows the turn-in.

Hello there!

I saw in a magazine that the new Yamaha R6 had 208's called Qualifier. So i checked the UK Dunlop web page to check it out but it was just the old 208, 208RR and 208GP.
But the american web page only had 208ZR and the 208GP.

Is the 208ZR the new Qualifier?
And will the old ones be discontinued, I'm thinking of the 208, and 208RR.

Maybe there's a difference between the European market and the U.S market?
Would be fun to know that so hopefully someone with the knowledge could answere that question.
Thought this was somewhat relative to the first post in this thread!

From what I understand, the D208s will be replaced by the Qualifier. The qualifier will hit the US market in January. As far as the D208GP, I think that is a track tire and the ZR is the road tire.

Thanks. I will go ahead and buy the D208zr. I am going to go with the 190 because I am not doing any crazy cornering, just cruising(and it looks cooler!). The only problem is that I will have the d208m on the front, and d208zr on the rear. We will see!

Another question. Can I fit a d208zr 190/50-17 on my 03 xb9s? I checked the tire guide and it said i could only put 180/55-17. Thanks for the help.
