I know this may have been discussed before, but what is needed to convert a "S" to an "R" front end?

Contact "wyckedflesh" he's in Az, you'll find him on the AZ threads in the storm fronts. I know he did this to his old XB12S. He would know exactly what you need to complete the transformation to XB12SR... : )

The other thing you need is someone to trade parts with, hint hint....

My "R" is red, looking to change to an "S" front, either red or carbon.

Took off the "S" pieces....
From an "R" you need
Fairing
Windscreen
Fairing support Bracket
Mirrors
Windscreen mounting kit (the lower 2 bolts longer then for a standard windscreen kit)
headlight assembly
front brake line
top triple tree
Ignition key switch
bars (sold LEft and Right seperate from top triple)
about 6 torx screws for the attachments under the fairing bracket and to fabricate 2 spacers the same thickenss as the mointing points for the ECM to be used behind the headlight assembly at the fairing bracket since on an "R" that is where the ECM is located. You need to adapt the "S" headlight plugs to work with the "R" headlights as the plugs are different. And the Service Manual will help when it comes to laying out the points of attachment on the fairing support.

Pwnzor you will run into a space problem under the flyscreen of the "S" front end in order to fit the fuse boxes, ECM and Horn. Those items on an "S" are located under the seat.

Thanks Wycked, Fiery is wanting the conversion. Can you get the key the same as original so it fits the gas cap? She has a black S low, that Santa's helper DaveS just installed a race kit on.
By the way you still in Az? I fly out X-mas to Phx and drive to Yuma.

Coolice, let me look at my spare parts and see if I have the top triple, the ignition key and gas cap all keyed alike.

Yup still in Penis...er PHX. Your welcome to swing by for a Xmas meet. Drop me an email through the PM system.
