That site looks like a fake put up by a disgruntled owner to me.

I don't think the ad listings are really sponsors, more like targeted marketing inserted by Google.

First off, problems on that site were with tube frames and early blasts. No mention of XB's on my quick perusal.

Second, the ads are just part of the google banner "targeted marketing". Not any active sponsorship by any dealer.

It would be interesting to find out how those dealers and Buell corporate feel about being associated with that site.

Before I bought my bike, I was researching Buells and came across that stupid "mybuell.com" site. I was smart enough to read between the lines and see that the website was a load of crap. I felt like emailing that guy and telling him that his sight was out of date and irrelevant to the awesome XB line. But why waste time...

12 months later and nearly 9,000 miles on the odometer, I am one happy motorcyclist!

I did email him last year, telling him how reliable my Buell was at 20thousand miles, now at 40thousand miles, still no reply...

I read that site before I bought my Blast last year and recognized at least three disgruntled purchasers who were unhappy with their dealer, more so than the bike itself. Then if you do not give the dealer some consideration and treat him like $hit, then you probably deserve to be screwed.

Could someone give this thread a mercy bullet? Put it out of it's misery.

It doesn't look to me like we will get any real info to help the guy with.

So, let me see….

First you made modifications and the bike didn’t run right after that.

Then you crashed the bike.

You tried to fix it up yourself, but didn’t get it quite right and it runs worse.

So how does this make the bike a lemon? So how is Buell responsible for any of this?

Amusing anecdote

To wit…

When is the bikes warranty void? Abuse, misuse and neglect are all reasons to void a warranty. Before I got a real job I worked as the service manager for a bike shop, I had some “customer” roll in a totally trashed dual purpose bike into the shop – it was only 3 months old and it had quit running.

I sized it up:

This bike had a hole punched in the side case, the exhaust pipe had been crushed, the tank bashed in on both sides, a huge wow in the front wheel, instruments crashed off the bike, bald rear tire (from doing burnouts) air box “ripped off” (the mounts were still bolted on, looks like it was removed with a sawsall) cleaner replaced with a non oiled K&N, a Bunch of busted cylinder fins, taillight and rear fender all crashed off, rear brake lever crashed off, handlebars bent…completely covered with mud…

And this guy thought that the bike would be fixed under warranty!

I wouldn’t let the bike into the shop. I had the service rep come by to inspect, and we agreed it shouldn’t be repaired under warranty. We both got a good laugh. I made it run though, the reason it quit was the wire from the ignition pickup to the CDI box had been crushed, after fixing that it “ran” again.

I returned the bike to a very unhappy customer.

a huge wow in the front wheel
This in itself would make any bike a lemon.

OOOhh Ooohh Mr Kotter!
I know the answer to the thread title "What do u do when your xb turns out to be a lemon?".

Complain on every Buell board on the internet.

Everyday you just grind on Buells and Buell owners and then maybe sue BMC or something.

Just make sure you complain on every forum that hits on a Google search. Everyday for 3 years. Over and over and over.....

At least that's what I've seen work.

Dana, Unless I get real lucky and hit the lottery, I won't be able to make Homecoming. My wife and I are taking three weeks this summer and riding out to Glacier Nat'l Park; and I only get two weeks Vacation (My kind of math!). We do plan to come through Wisconsin, though. I'll be in touch as the time gets closer.

As a side note, i owe you and the wife one, and i will be moving this January, so i will have extra space a place to crash, about 3 hours north of springfield
Dont blow me off and save yourself a few bucks

i did let 2 different dealerships go over the bike after i fixed it. they both gave me the ok...once at the 5000 mile service and once at the 10000 service. a broken primary case was an easy fix, take the bolts off and put a new one on. the cluth basket was another easy fix. the rest was plastics except the triple tree which i broke one and then had the dealership put a new one on. blake i dont care how much you try to belittle be, my bike has been in the shop for 2 months and a week today. maybe they just forgot to reset the tps? i highly doubt it. i did, in fact, get a hold of buell customer service and they said, they will be working hand in hand with my dealership to repair any and all remaining problems with my bike. i do still believe my bike is a lemon, it ran like be4 i dumped it, and it ran the same damn way after i dumped it. needless to say, i know what i said, and i figured you would pull that card and try to get everyone here to see that im just a stupid 29 yr old dude who cant replace a few nuts and bolts after a spill. wasnt it you that stated that there are 2 types of bikers, those who wrecked and those who will wreck? all i want is my bike fixed. if they cant fix it i want a new bike/motor/electrical system. i paid for the 5 year warranty, now its time for buell to hold its side of the agreement. do u belittle every person who has had problems with the buell motorcycle? if so, you would be doing that to alot of people. i just want my piece of crap buell fixed so i can sell it and be DONE!

now its time for buell to hold its side of the agreement.
you need to read your warranty agreement, if what you've said (in ALL your posts) is true, you may have violated you side of said agreement, therefore anything Buell does for you here on out is because they are such a great company.
If they find your warranty is void, well they've held up their end of the agreement.
