I'm finally going to pull the trigger on a 2006 XB12Scg. I'd like to buy local and want to know which of the area dealers is best for both price and service after the sale. Any and all recent experiences and recommendations are most welcome.
Thank you all,
Ric

That answer is easy! Our sponsor, Rocky Mountain H-D/Buell. Ask for Dave Croach and tell him Blake at BadWeB sent you. : )

I haven't gone to RM HD buell...but I've heard good things and will be heading there for my next TPS reset. There's one up in Greeley, where I got my CityX... but stay away, they are dumb, stupid, not all that Buell savy.

I'm in the Fort FYI if you ever make it up there. And frankly, I make it to Boulder often too... so if you see a b*tchin black CityX w/ drummer ~ thats me :-)

Blake,
A couple of years ago when I started thinking Buell, I called RMH-DBUELL and even on year-old leftover models they were asking retail. I also got the run around by the salesman. You know, the old "let me talk to my sales manager" crap that went out a decade ago by less than straight shooter used car salesman.
Have they changed that much??

I tried to purchase a xb12s from them last spring and it was full retail, no deals on price. I ended up buying a used xb12s with 202 miles on it and saved thousands. As far as the salespersons go, they have always been friendly to me. They let me test ride a xb12x a few weeks ago too. I did hear about someone I ride with that got his TPS set there and he said it runs worse then before it was reset. I buy all my parts and other stuff there and it is a nice shop.

I've bought 2 bikes from Sun HD/ Buell. MSRP on both was out the door price (not including tax).

I've had good and bad service experiences with both dealers. Parts inventory I would consider them equal. RMHD might have a bit more Buell schwag on the floor.

Tom at RMHD is a Buell riding salesperson. Rick Pew at Sun is who I bought both mine from.

IMHO self servicing your bike is the way to go if you are inclined and able. Good luck!

Dude, no joke. Drive out of state. They ALL suck here. I drove all the way to Las Cruces, NM and saved 2000 dollars and didn't have to get lied to like Sun did as they held on to my deposit or ignored for hours like Rocky Mountain does. RM still have 03s on the floor. I wouldn't trust any of the monkeys there to wrench my bike either. I took my Buell only to get the TPS reset at a Harley dealership just to avoid the "Buell" dealerships here.

Any opinions on High Country HD/Buell in Frederick? They seemed like pretty good guys when I went up there in September for a demo. They let me take out a 1-day-out-of-the-crate XB12Ss Long, albeit just around the block. The sales manager (I forget his name) is pretty Buell knowledgeable...

I cannot stress enough about NOT buying from ANY dealership in Colorado. If you got cash to spare and like being ignored then do it. I have visited them all EVEN the ones who are done with Buell (Mile High). Let em all sell their Harleys. High Country got in some trouble with their crappy service a few years back. Engine Hot Rodding gone bad. Just drive out of state. See the USA and load up your Buell in the back of the truck and viola! The place I bought mine from even offered to buy my plane ticket there and let me ride it back...FREE.

Raraf, what HD dealer did you use to reset your TPS in the Denver area and how much did they charge?

I used a place that no longer sells Buells but still had the equipment. 15 bucks. Mile High HD. Call first in case they eBayed all their crap off. They quoted me 30 bucks but since it only took a half hour they charged me less. Pretend that you are interested in a V-Rod while you are there. They eat it up cuz they are stuck with a crap load of them.
