Playing around cost money but it is fun as, well you know. The swingarm can be fixed. A little JB Weld, primer and paint and you will be ready to do it again.

Don't call youself a fool. That would make me one too. I crashed my XB on the first ride jamming it into a turn with horrible ripples in the pavement. Daves hooked me up.

Bikes are made to be thrashed, but it hurts less when you throw away a used one.

Here's something I would recommend you investing in.

First, get the frame pucks if you don't already have them. They work. Believe me. I know.

Next, get the swingarm and fork sliders from Dark Horse Moto.

Dark Horse Moto/

I just bought them and they look very good on the bike and from others who've had them and used them they say they work very well.

Off the top of my head looks like you'll need
Rear plastics 140.00
Mirror 19.60
R rider peg 14.65
R handlebar 20.45
Grip 7.55
End cap for bar 2.50
Swingarm 325.00

I would also try to hook you up with the DHM sliders. I have those in stock too. Same 10% discount
Frame pucks are a must!!!!!!

Hey Redstar100,

FYI, that site you recommended is owned by one in the same as the aussie buellridersjerk/deviltubepodhuckster who has repeatedly violated BadWeB policy, lied, masqueraded disingenuously as a number of users here, maliciously attacked the board, insulted and threatened to sue BadWeB, and just plain been an all around horrible blight on this board and antagonizer of me. Please don't offer up that sight to the good folks of BadWeB again. Thanks for understanding.

Yeah.. don't beat yourself up too bad. I dropped my bike so many times (3x) the first few weeks of ownership that the resonating impact force finally caused cracks on my airbox cover around the screws.

Dave hooked me up with nice new "kick ash" parts : D .. uhhh... i wanted that color anyways.. lol..

Grasshoper, from what I can see, the swingarm is the most expensive part and if you know a good local body shop, they probably can do a nice touch-up on it for a lot less than the price of a new swingarm.

if the swingarm is not cracked nor weakened by that scratch I don't think you have to replace it. It's so darn pricey.
And if you have to...I'd probably switch to a chain conversion swingarm.
(but I own a 2003 xb9, so I guess I'm concerned about belt replacement/duration)

and yes, good you didn't hurt yourself
