If the clamps aren't broken, I am pretty sure you can use handlebars from a Mountain Bike. |

I have heard lots of people here use Oneal azonic CR low bars for the lightning, cheap compared to the crossroads. Did you like your crossroads? I am thinking about getting some |

i love the crossroads. thats why what ever i get will just be a temp replacement. i think both of the bars on my bike are fine, just some cosmetic issues. the thing that broke was the mounting plate that goes on the top triple. i dont even want to think how much that cost. ive seen the azonic bars, but i was wondering what else was out there. they just seem really wide. im even open to other motocross bar ideas. anything that would work, i want to see. no matter how extreme it is. let the ideas roll, buellers. |

well you could probably cut them down if you dont like how wide they are. |

i cut an inch off each side of my azonics. brought them almost to the same width as the stockers but obviously much lower and a little forward. can't beat $35 either. i think most of the MX bars will have the same issue , w i d e . most makes use similar bends too... CR hi, low ... YZ hi, low ... pro bends .... etc. i haven't tried the crossroads yet but MX bars are definitely going to put you in a different position that you might not like. something to think about. |

Lots of BadWebbers use the Azonic CR low bars from Cycle Gear. They are not quite as sportif as the Crossroads, but they are lower and more forward than the stock bars, and a whale of a lot less expensive than the Crossroads. Cycle Gear has them for $29.99 right now. Here is the URL for the bars.. http://www.cyclegear.com/cgi-bin/merch.cgi?func=UPDATE&fnscallerid=6305600241880 9015900001164644371&Quantity=1&Product_Code=CGC_3014-116&item=CGC_3014-116&From= ../spgm.cfm?L1=&L2=&L3=&L4=&item=CGC_3014-016_G Most of the brothers have cut an inch or so off the ends of the bars, and don't use the cross bar. Lots on these bars in the Knowledge Vault, if you can find it. |

If the Azonics don't suit your fancy, you might want to search the knowledge vault for " clubmans bars". Here is a nice set made by one of the brothers, "Trac95ker". They felt great when I tried them at the Appalachian Adventure. You might be able to find a similar commercial product. They used to be very popular in England back in the day. The cool part is that they fit on the standard handlebar clamp,( if you get lucky), and are relatively inexpensive, (if you can find them. |

Hey StelthXB, I just bought a firebolt upper triple clamp from eBay, and I'm wanting to do what you did to your lightning. How did you get everything to mount up? I was thinking I would make a bracket. I would love to know how you did it. Thanks Patrix |

http://www.roadandrace.com.au/cat15.htm http://www.rearsets.info/sw3.html They range in price so shop well - 4 way adjustable makes them as comfey as Profi clipons which are very comfey and adjustable 5 ways - inc. height - the next handlebar for my red bike will be the Laverda - popular with the older Duc set as well. Patrix... It is definately the least simple approach! Follow the link Buell666 posted above for more details. I still have not resolved the issue with the master cylinder not fitting the bars. Glitch suggested using longer bars than the Firebolt uses. Additionally I have had a problem with the routing of the clutch cable pulling my cluster out and the resulting fuse symptoms... but I love how it turned out. another 3% success! |

Buell666, For the time being, just use a dirtbike bar until you get the coin to replace your busted bars. I have a set if you want 'em. They're identical to the "S" bars, but are aluminum and have the upper cross bar, like the CityX bars. Unless you need the low down Firebolt feeling, in which case, I can't help ya. |
