My 9S has to go back to visit DaveS over the winter for some service. While it is there, I was thinking of having him dress it up abit. (it's black with silver frame and wheels).

Paint: Besides a variety of factory colors (yellow/orange/amber/red) Buell offers the shifter/voltage and race stripe paint schemes.

Wheels: available colors are white/black/amber/orange

I'm thinking by mixing and matching I can come up with a much more handsome/unique bike. For example:shifter w/black wheels or amber w/gold wheels.

Problem: I'd like to use factory stuff to maintain some resale value, but I haven't seen any of the factory custom paints. I'm open to suggestions from list members as to combo's you've seen and liked.

There are just about a million different ways of mix and matching your XB9S.
Here is one that might give you some ideas. It is based on a yellow theme as that is what I have. I wanted a black one at first, but got a great deal on a yellow from a dealer going out of the Buell business. Now I like the yellow: it's so cheerful.

Milar this is a pic of my bike that I also bought from Dave.My thoughts are paint because it separates it from the factory and as far as resale value?? These bike don't so I enjoy it for how I'd like. Its your bike enjoy it how you'd like to... its all good.

Here is a black beauty.
It is the as yet unannounced XB12SSXR.
It is a long Black Lightning, with a ULY seat and a Firebolt front end. Amber wheels.
I wouldn't be surprised one little bit if our Daves could get your bike looking like this, if you wanted him to.

Upon looking at the picts. of the individual users bikes. I was dumbfounded by the paint job on Dana P.'s bike. It clearly belongs in the Ringling Bros. & Barnum Baileys Circus Museum. Such a paint job is blasphemy. It is sacrilege to the motorcycle to the industry. nuff said!

anyways, as an answer to the initial question of this post, the voltage set looks amazing. even with the amber wheels. i saw it in person at the gap. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/37/124300.html?1132196962

that guy was clearly an idiot. even though that paintjob doesnt suit my personal taste, I can appreciate the time and skill that was applied in making that bike a true custom. He sounds like one of those rice-burner critics that feels inadequate when he hears the american v-twin come roaring by.

Thanks guys for the compliments and Pwnzor pointed out its not for everyone but I like it and thats what matters.Hmmmm he's from Wi. Well it'll be at the World of Wheels Custom Auto and Bike Show at State Fair Park in Jan. maybe he'll see it in person there if he wants. Pictures just don't do the paints detail justice.

Do like I did with my XB9SX. Find a used set of body kit and get it painted with a color or a design of your choice. So you can put it back to factory look when you want to sell it.

That's what I did ; )

Keep the great ideas coming!

My 9S has a silver frame. Black tends to hide the frame and highlight the bodywork. With a silver frame you have a large expanse of silver you need to work with.

I wonder how the red/black of the Voltage bodywork would work with a silver frame?

Your 9S has a silver frame. I wonder if the Voltage set would be as striking on a silver framed bike?

The answer is YES, it is possible to fit a PC, but not with an off-the-shelf PC setup. It requires some work, which you can read all about by doing a search.
