I have a set on order (taking forever) but just read Clements review in Rider and he says that the rear bag can not be run solo- the side bags have to be attached in order for the trunk to be attached. Does anyone know ?? This is not what I had in mind.......

You dont have to have the side bags on the bike, just a sec. I'm gonna take a picture.

The instructions indicate you need the side luggage brackets in addition to the top box brackets for strength.
