I HAVE AN O4 XB12S. ABOUT 1 OR 2 WEEKS AGO IT STARTED NOT UP SHIFTING OR DOWN SHIFTING INTO 3RD GEAR. IF I WAS SHIFTING UP THE SHIFTER WOULDN'T MOVE IF I WAS AT 2500 RPM. IF I WAS ABOVE THAT IT WOULD GO IN. IT MAINLY DOES THIS WHEN I AM JUST CRUISING. IF I AM GOING THROUGH THE GEARS QUICKLY I WOULD NOT DO THIS. IF I WAS SLOWING DOWN AND WENT TO THIRD IT WOULD ALSO NOT MOVE. IN EITHER SITUATION I COULD USUALLY DOUBLE CLUTCH IT OR JUST WAIT A SECOND AND TRY AGAIN AND IT USUALLY GOES INTO GEAR. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER ON TUESDAY AND GOT IT BACK LAST NIGHT. WENT FOR A RIDE AND STILL DOES IT. THE DEALER TOLD ME THEY ADJUSTED THE CLUTCH AND THE PRIMARY CHAIN AND IT SEEMED TO STOP. ON THEIR BEHALF IT RAINED THE DAY I TOOK IT IN SO THEY TESTED IT ON THE DYNO. I WAS A LITTLE WORRIED THEY WOULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM THIS WAY BUT THEY SAID THEY DID. IT WAS THERE FOR THIS PROBLEM AND A 15,OOO MILE SERVICE. I PLAN ON TAKING IT BACK JUST WANTED SOME INFO IF ANYONE HAS ANY. BIKE RUNS FLAWLESS OTHER THAN THIS. COULD'NT BE HAPPIER.

My 04 XB12S is in the shop right now for a broken clutch cable caused by "something that broke off in my primary case". This happened at 8000 miles and will be warrantied work, but it happened while I was on a business trip in AR and I was essentially stranded for two weeks due to no Buell support in AR that I could find. I still love my Buell in spite of everything. My bike felt the same right before it broke and once before my trip but the dealer told me I was OK.

this may be a bit off topic, but something is VERY WRONG with a service dept that fails to road test a repair "because it was raining" what kind of crap is that? find a new repair shop.
