Well since you're concerned about price, go with the bars.
I ran them for a while, they're good bars.
As far as function...
Black_sunshine and myself can often be found rippin' up the North Georgia Mountains. Neither of us complain about how they handle.
I prefer the Cross Roads, but not because I didn't like the bars, or that they made the bike handle poorly, I just wanted to be more forward.

I've got the Crossroads Bars with the 7 degree down bar angle & I love them. I understand they also manufacture 0 degree bars that are 1/2 inch or so narrower. I hated the stock bars. They give you a sit up & beg riding position. Lower is better!!! go 4 the crossroads (even if they are a bit pricey)

Typeone is dead on about the "dirtbike" feel. A mean pissedoff loud a$$ dirtbike. Leverage all day long. Just the slightest push and she dives in the curves. That was exactly what I was looking for.

where do you get the crossroad bars? I think Ill go with the 0 deg, since they seem to be the most sporty... agreed?

Alex,
See here. Click on the picture there to see the difference between the -7 and the 0 degree versions. It feels like a bigger difference than the picture looks. I've had both on the bike, and I much prefer the 0 degree version. If I had the -7's , I'd probably narrow them a bit, they are pretty wide.

The lower flatter tube type bars definitely have a totally different feel. When they go lower, they have to have less pullback angle or the pods will hit the airbox cover. The lack of pullback will cause a funny wrist tweak unless you ride with an elbows up/out style a la dirt track style. Some folks love that position, I personally find it a bit awkward for lengthy periods. But it's a cool about town position. All 100% IMHO, YMMV.

Al

Hey Buell_892, we have a Brag chapter in Bloomington called Hoosier Thunder Brag. Also see our thread in Storm Fronts under the same name. Meetings are the 2nd Sat of every month at noon. We'd love to have ya even if just for a visit.

I cut a little over an inch off each side of mine.
Al's right about the need to do that.
