Don't mean to sound "dumb", but I found this piece laying on the garage floor under my XB12S.

I'm hoping this fell off my work bench or out of a box of parts, because I don't have a clue where it would fit on an XB (haven't done any work on my bike lately).

Any one recognize it ??? THANKS

The "Phantom" part

Yeah it fell off your bike. It is a clip that holds your fuell overflow to your footpeg hanger. No big deal.

it is from your left "rearset". It attaches behind your left foot peg to hold your gas overflow tube out of the way....your rearset will have 1 longer bolt that this plastic piece threads on. Not essential to the way your bike runs…just might get gas on your tire/swing arm if you overfill

Yep, that's what I called it !!!

Found it on the garage floor when I came back from a ride, never saw it before so I couldn't imagine where it came from.

THANKS for quick replies !!!

You'd be amazed how much that lil tube oozes even if you don't overfill. I put the chrome heel guards on about a year ago but they didn't come with one bolt longer than the other like stockers did in order to utilize that little thigamajig. I had to devise a whole new 'vent' system....or get used to wiping that crap off my swingarm.

What, that overflow tube is supposed to have a clip to hold it away from the swingarm? I'd better check--mine just hangs there, making a mess of the swingarm, has since day 1, I always thought it was kinda cheesy...

Hey, I checked, and there it was--slipped the overflow tube through the clip, now it's nicely tucked away behind the left footpeg mount...

Just another reason to read this site, I guess...
