Just recently acquired the Pit Bull front stand for my 9S...maybe I'm dumb as a bag of hammers, but can someone explain how you remove the front wheel once the bike is lifted on this stand? Looks to me like the front axle cannot be removed all the way while on the stand!?!?
Any help would be appreciated (pictures?)...

If it's like a tuber the stand has a pin that goes into the steering head? You should be able to turn the handlebars one way or another to get the axle out. If I remember correctly, my front Pit Bull came with a caution not to use it without the rear stand.

make sure you have a rear stand and then apply force to turn the handle bars. It may help to put a small amount of grease on the stand's pin before lifting. Also make sure the bike's swing arm doesn't move or walk on the rear stand when turning the front end.

Thanks guys...never thought to turn the handlebars...thought the bike would fall over!
I will keep in mind the cautions about the rear stand, which I always use when using the front lift.

It's a pain regardless.

You have to loosen the caliper and turn the fork leg. Simple but sorta time consuming.

Oh and loosen everything BEFORE you lift the front end up on the stand.

Do you have the one that lifts from the bottom triple-clamp or from the bottom of the fork leg? You can't really rotate the fork leg when lifting from the leg itself (I got the Pit Bull adapter after the one failed attempt)

Ok if you don't have a front stand, but you do have a rear center stand, can you use the muffler as a jack point with a scissor jack? I know the service manual says that there is a jack point, but I was wondering about real world use. Will I damage my muffler if I lift the front end up using a scissor jack? And how stable is this going to be if I do lift it there. Will it come tumbling down with ease?

The muffler has two triangle shaped points marking the jacking points. You will not damage your muffler. You can raise the bike high enough to get both wheels off the ground and then some. I've used ratcheting straps from the bike to the jack to stabilize it.

I've got a stand and a jack. When all is said and done, the Pit Bull is a lot less effort and a lot more stable IMHO.

Slaughter, I have the stand which fits under the bottom triple clamp. I had used just a jack under the front muffler jacking point in the past to remove the front wheel before I got the Pit Bull stand. I also bought the Pit Bull to aid in removal of the forks.
