With all these threads about wheelies I figured might as well have one about the opposite.

I've been practicing rolling stoppies more than wheelies lately, kinda the feeling that everyone can wheelie, I want to do something a bit harder.

It has definately taken a while for me to feel comfortable (still dont really) and bring the back up very far. I'm to the point where I can roll one for about 50' or so regularly (some longer, many shorter). Still have a bit of work to do.

Nice shot of brake hand. 2 fingers.

This one rolled out reeaal nice probably 75 foot.

Damn copyright logo. I'll have to dig for the originals. The copyright is actually just a test, that website is non-functioning right now.

When I do stoppies, the back end comes down pretty hard and it makes me feel like I am thrashing my bike.

I am no expert (but a quick learner!) - is there a secret to bring the back end down gently/slowly? Seems like you'd need a lot of speed to ease it down by keeping the stoppie going, but by the time I want to come down I am almost stopped, so the back end just bangs down hard. ???

Craig, isn't it uncomfortable riding a new CityX with nadz that big. Way too scared to damage the beast to try anything like that!

I rarely ride one till I'm stopped, that way I can keep from slamming it down and you dont get that uncomfortable what if moment when it's coming down a bit crossed up or ockward.

Also most of my weight is on my feet, I'm actually not sitting on the seat, so when I set it down I just stand up and let the bike down on its own. Then my weight isnt slamming on the bike also.

I can stoppie about at the same level you are at, very scary. I have got the rear up a bit higher than in the pics, maybe I can get a couple up sat. for yall to see. I personally think stoppies are easier to execute but much much more frightening.

I try not to lean at all, that will give you a feeling of coming over. I usually start at about 50mph to do a rolling stoppie.

You should go to an empty parking lot and practice braking, you dont want to "snatch up" the rear, slowly apply more brake until you feel it coming up and then get higher when you get better.

HUGE BALLS! 50 mph? I wish there was more 3%ers around to show me. I really want to do stoppies without crasheees.

I'm usually hard second gear before I start squeezin' 60-70mph

Think of it this way, if you are only going 20 by the time you get on the brakes and get it up, you are basically out of speed. So if you really want to roll 'em you need the speed.

I don't necessarily lean forward, but like I mentioned i take basically all the weight off my butt just enough to feel where its at.

uhm. your weight is coming down whether you stand on the pegs or sit....it doesn't disappear. You just don't feel it in your spine because your knees and legs absorb it.....sya.

True, but doing it that way for me gets the bike down smoother.
