Does anyone know the thread width of the mirror socket? I took my mirrors off and want to go to Lowes and find a plug of some sort to fit it.

Thanks

If it's the "standard thread" for mirrors It should be 10x1.0mm I have an r and haven't had that problem on my buell. This comes from previous experience on japan inc. machines.

Just take your mirror in to lowes/ace hardware find a nut that will fit the threads and then use that nut for testing out various plug diameters

Go to a bodyshop and see if they have a plastic bodyplug that will snap into it.

the r does have the plugs in the mirror holes. probably the same size as the one that plugs the spare shift linkage hole in the primary. If you can't find what you need at the hardware store.

My S3T has black plugs in the mirror socket holes.

Boise, how did the mirrors work on the bars? Too much vibration? I am not happy with the wiggling of the S3 mirrors. My consort calls her Floppy.

the bar end mirrors are a must have, very little to no vibration and you can see more then your sholders, like the cars behind you

Every open hole on my bike is covered with these nylon plugs.

I found I need mirrors I can see out of more than I thought.

The officer told me he was tailing me with lights and sirens for 2 miles. I didn't check behind me until I got up on traffic, and there he was.

Luckily I made it to the straight quicker than he did or he would have witnessed a lot more than 15 over. Bank account is now busted so the bike will have to go into hibernation until spring, and emerge with a set of bar end mirrors, axle sliders, and Pilot Powers.
