See my profile for my personal list of mods (rather light).

Spend a goodly portion of that on gear and live to enjoy
your mods another day!

Sad to say a grand doesn't get you much these days.

But I'd jet coat my header, tires, corbin, maybe some carbon fiber do dads, and a right side air scoop.

Buell traction Grips $18.00
Buell tank bag "A must have" $110.00
Good leather riding jacket $450
Riding boots $150
Icon Pursuit gloves $50
Digital camera $$$$

TIRES ARE THE FIRST MOD THAT YOU CAN DO THAT YOU WILL NOTICE THE MOST PERFORMANCE. THOSE DUNLOPS SUCK SOOOOOOOOO BAD. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND THE DIABLOS. I AGREE WITH EVERYONE ON THE BOARD WHEN THEY SAY GET A SUIT. THOSE TWO THINGS SHOULD COST ABOUT A GRAND, BUT WHEN YOU ARE THAT COMFORTABLE, YOU WOULD BE AMAZED AT HOW MUCH BETTER, AND FASTER YOU CAN RIDE. THE K AND N ISNT A BAD CHOICE FOR A FEW MORE BUCKS. ASIDE FROM THAT, THERE REALLY ARENT A WHOLE LOT OF OPTIONS FOR PERFORMANCE UNLESS YOU DECIDE TO GET INTO HEADWORK, CAMS, AND ALL THAT GOOD STUFF. LET US KNOW WHAT YOU DO.

Assuming you have a set of proper riding gear, track schools and track days are the best ways to get more performance from your Buell. After the first couple don't forget to upgrade those tires after you burn the edges off!

I've already got a top of the line helmet, Vanson Leathers and riding gear. The bike handles great and is already plenty fast for me. I'd go to one of them learn to race schools for a weekend, for sure.

i like the race schools idea ..

race kit ain't so bad either ..

what amazes me .. NO-ONE mentions good padded leather riding pants - not that i have any yet - but all the medics i tattoo always tell me abt guys sliding under bike & losing their muscles & their outer thighs when wearing jeans ..

boots & leather pants a must & now i am of to the *joe racer* store to get me some.

for most sportbikes, suspension is the one critcal area - along w/ tires - that many agree is the major performance upgrade ..

for the buell, i lift up the rear preload 2-3 clicks (basically set up for its heaviest load capacity), yet lower the front preload to lighter than my body weight .. very fast turning & a nasty kick in the on bumpy roads (not to mention excessive rear tire wear on braking), but VERY racerboy & very aggresive handling, hence aggresive riding is possible & all my friends can't stay w/ me, as they are less crazy on the bends!!

how they say .. OWN THE CORNERS!

I think I would look into a downpayment for a nice used White Lightning, just my own personal desire to own one. My Xb is fun enough for street riding.

Thanks for your input,
I have the gear , Boots leathers, helmet gloves,
tires are being changed to a set of black tomahawks I got for nothing, traded for some marketing ideas.
I wanted more bike mods.....
I like the idea of race schools.

I've had good luck with the K&N air filter and the TFI unit, although I've got another brand of pipe... The TFI seemed to really smooth out the power to me... Oh, and I think that Daves guy can get both. At least that's what I've heard...: )
Oh and the traction grips for comfort and the frame pucks for safety, the frames that is... Some Dark Horse sliders front and rear would be cool, I need to get some myself one of these days...
