did my first track day yesterday at NHIS in Loudon, NH....HOLY CR@P, WHAT A GREAT DAY!!!

I didn't realize how much I would learn in a day at the track, about myself, my bike and what both are capable of....parts were just a total hoot, parts were quite humbling. I started out pretty cautious, but as the day progressed the confidence came and by the later parts of the day I was flyin'

I can't wait to go again!!

Ohhh, dangerous addiction that one ... Congrats. Humbling and educational - yep, that sums it up.

Soon you'll be wanting a trailer, a track-only bike fully wired and set up for track, a set of track tools etc etc : )

Look for a company who hosts track days at your local track. For example, here's one I attend: http://www.lstd.com.

They do a pretty good job of explaining everything you'll need. The requirements are easy to meet.

For track days:
- DOT approved helmet
- leather gloves
- leather boots that cover the ankle
- Tires with half tread left
- Padded jacket and pants (leather preferred)
- taped off license plate, headlights, tail lights, and blinkers (it's best to disconnect or remove them if you can)
- no leaking fluids
- the throttle must snap back properly when released

There's probably more, but those are the basics for a track day.

Yeah, sometimes I really hate Daves and Skully for what they've done to me. They both have a pocket full of those little bugs that they like to throw on people. Now they're crawling all over me and constantly biting. Those little bastards...

BEWARE.

Dago,
you missed a biggie......don't go to the track on a Buell without knee sliders....you'll need em. Also blank your speedo with tape....if you can look at it without consequences you're not going fast enough.

Here is the link to the NESBA rider information:

http://www.nesba.com/Info/Forms.aspx

Lots of good information in the Rider Manual as well as the FAQ.

In true pusher form, they even give you the first one free : )
