I ordered a Jardine slip-on before I even got my bike. Now that I have the bike I sort of like it the way it is. Seems to pull its little heart right out and the law cannot hear me coming for a mile. I just do not see where installing the pipe would be of any use. What do you guys think? | ||

I say cancel your order before taking delivery. The Jardine sounds great but is louder than the factory race pipe. A seat for every backside, ain't that what they say? | ||

If you send it back and here what your bike would sound like with the Jardine on it afterwards you will be kicking yourself for it. Replacing that enormous 30 pound pipe will make your bike sound and feel so much better! I put about 3500 miles on my bike in an entire year with the stocker on it and I have put that much on it in the last two months because I like my bike so much more since I made the change! The Jardine weighs about 3-4 pounds, so I'm sure you can imagine how the bike feels after that beast of an ugly 30 pound stock s**tcan is gone. Yeah I just put one on my xb9s and I'm really pleased with the results.Good power in the mid and top end roll-on.Seems to lose a little on the low around 2-3k....maybe it's just me????? Overall it's a good unit for the price but it is louder than stock, not the loudest but still loud. At least they can hear me now......almost got taken out a couple time w/ the stock muffler.Passed a mini-van with the new unit and they did'nt know what the heck was going on...they pulled over to the shoulder...So I guess it's good for more than performance. I say try it and see for yourself... | ||

I bought my 9s with a jardine already installed. Love the throaty roar around town. Have to wear ear plugs on long rides though. Weight savings is substantial. Stock muffler sounds wimpy. | ||

Oh yeah, if you are worried about it being to loud you can buy a part from American Sport Bike that makes the Jardine quiet. | ||

I think the Drummer is a better choice if you don't want too much noise and you do want to improve (not lose) your bottom end. | ||

Well I decided to put it on this evening and what a job. I wonder if anyone at Jardine has ever installed one of these. After working my butt off for two hours I will have to wait until tomorrow because the front bolt was too short. I wish I had went with the Drummer. | ||

You have experienced the same thing that every one whom owns a Jardine.. Easy fix my friend. SLOT cut one side, you will see which (facing towards the seat) so it fits. The GIG used to make these is a little out'a'whack... As once all back together it all holds together Ok. Cheers. | ||

Hey mountain how did it take over 2 hours to install, do you have a stand? Anyways I have one too and I love the sound. Did they send you the new steel mounting brackets? because the old aluminum ones sucked. I will be rebuilding my can this winter with better packing and a few more rivets. There is no way I'm putting that huge steel muffler back on. I might purchase the quite core insert for long highway rides. Have fun and make some noise | ||

I do not have a lift but did use my Handi-stands. It was just more then I thought. I guess the instructions were for the older bikes. Found out it was easier to take off the back wheel to remove the oil lines. The faring brackets should have been installed before the muffler. That would have saved a bunch of time. Had to grind the front bracket down so that it would mount to the engine and then drill out the front hole in the faring mount so that it would fit. Now there is nothing to mount the front of the lower faring to but it probaly had to many bolts in it anyway. It does sound nice, not as loud as I thought. The way everyone talked I thought that it would be really loud but it is not near as loud as the Superhawk was? I am pleased with the sound. Yes it does have the steel brackets. | ||

Jardine pipe...not the best out there,but certainly not the worst,for the money its very good value,weight saving over stock is huge,sound to me is better,mid to top end increase is noticable,although as reported by others there is a loss lower down in the rev range...horses for courses though id say it was a very good buy,had the suspect original spoiler mounts that were prone to breakage,mailed jardine and they shipped some later stronger versions out here to the uk straight away,not had any problems so far with the reported loose rivits that others have noticed over time...still looks as good as new which the original and buell race pipes wont over time..... there are so many pipes out there to choose from,pick what ever suits your needs and pocket i did there are a couple of sound clips on my homepage if you want to hear how the pipe sounds before you fit it (Message edited by rigga on September 30, 2005) | ||

This morning I was picking around at my bike and I reached inside my jardine and found out that the baffle tube is loose I hope it doesnt fly out or break soon! | ||

Since I have installed the Jardine it seems to be rich at idle. Does anyone else notice it on their Buells? | ||

Its hard to beat the Jardine for around $200. Mine has been trouble free for over 5000 miles but if you do have any problems their warranty service is the best in the business. The D&D is awesomne too for about another $200. | ||

I will have my Jardine here on Monday and my ECM is being put in on Saturday. I'll let you know how it runs. | ||

If the ECM helps I will get one for mine. I just hate having to drive 100 miles to have the TPS reset. | ||

TPS reset is required at the first service so they should do it at no charge if you do it then. | ||

Has the factory race can had any problems with brackets and stuff breaking? I have heard some horror stories about some of the other pipes.=, and was wondering if the race can was tougher. Just asking because of my riding habits. TIA. Stretch 05 XB12s (3 hrs last Friday. Work tonite...) |
