Has anybody else heard that the micron exhaust is in the country? I'm on thier call list and the salesman from there just called me and said that the sytems would be shipping this week and the price was $700. Is anybody else on thier call list or heard if this is true?

$700 for the complete headder/muffler system isn't bad at all, but I'm still waiting for dyno tests before I part with my coins.

Jim Chaconas has one on his XB12 racebike - got a look at it last month at Willow Springs for our races. Looks sweeet. Sounds good but he's breaking in a new motor so hasn't opened it up. Too early for comparo.

I seriously doubt the full header and muffler will sell for less than $1000 - just looking at it and knowing what their pipes sell for an RC-51

It is a high-quality pipe and also has those hydro-formed sorta flattened, sorta cobra-headed turns.

You could find him here - goes by "chaconas" - see if his contact info is in his profile.

Check this thread. Dyno's from an XB9, and a note from Steve Larson at the bottom saying they are ready to ship.

Dynos look like a good 4 or 6 hp gain, torque still shows the mid-range hole. I wonder how well it would work with a FAST intake and a PCIII?

Seems to be pretty flat on the bends (front cyl) in that pic. Are they all like that or only the prototype like that?

they are all like that. Hydro formed to keep gas and pressure wave speed higher and more efficient. At least that's the theory. Cross section is just as large in total volume as round tubes.

Let's see if Chaconas can post some pics of his installation on his XB12. Checked his website for pics, nothing of engine details.

Chaconas, how loud would you say the pipe is?

Check the "AZBuellers" section of the storm fronts. I think the last or second to last archive has pics of one installed on a black 12R w/ Black wheels.

Indy, initial impression is about as loud as a Latus but w/a mellower more resonant note.Nowhere near a Becin,I mean Slaughter's bike is deafening. If your thinking "is it quiet enough for the street?",I would say it's no louder than a Vance n Hines,D&D or any number of after market cans. That is up to 6500rpms.I never got to hold it wide open 'cause I was breaking in the motor.I'll have more info after the Oct.race weekend.
