I recently had my rear tire replaced on the Firebolt. A day later I noticed scratches on my swing arm. I guess the Tech was not familiar with the bike. Do I have any recourse to file a complaint? They are minor scratches and did not damage the swingarm, but nevertheless they are eye sores to look at. Even if I complain, I don't think that the damage could be repaired. Also now my bike makes a loud squealing noise when it is moving at low speeds at less than 5mph. I see gray grease on the rear axel where it looks like it had been re-packed. What could be causing this noise, as it seems to be coming from the rear of the bike? | ||

You should say something about the scratches to the dealership for sure! The grey grease is antiseize. Just wipe it off and be happy that he did that part of the job right! Look up the broken axle threads in the Knowledge Vault if you don't know what I'm talking about. There is nothing to re-pack on the axle. It just screws in to oil side of the swingarm. Is the squeling a metal to metal sound? You may need new rear brake pads or there might just be some brake dust build up. | ||

Thanks Olinxb12R, It is a metal to metal sound, like listening to a bus come to a stop. He told me that I did need rear brake pads when I went to pick the bike up. I just did not know that they would make such a sound irregardless of my pressing the brake pedal. I'll replace them for sure and park the bike until then. |
