I was just wondering if anyone has purchased the open airbox conversion kit from American Sport Bike? It looks like a good idea for a good price. Any feedback is appreciated.

I put it on this weekend. I really like it. I don't know that it really adds a lot of power, but it is a cool mod for a cheap price. Al has step by step directions for the install, so be sure to ask him to email them to you.

I've got mine as well. Saves you from having to cut your stock airbox.

He's also supposed to start carrying breather catch cans for the XB's if Mike ever gets them going.

I'm thrilled with mine. Made low and mid range torque feel stronger on my butt dyno.

Yea the intake sounds nasty with this kit!
Makes you want to do bad things...

This kit is set up for adding the K&N breather hose filter too.

One note with an open intake and exhaust you are gonna need a way to get more fuel to the engine.

In the future please post topics like this to the applicable topic in the Knowledge Vault. We'll be moving this one there soon. Thanks for helping to get BadWeB organized. : )

Everything appears to be getting moved to the Knowledge Vault. What exactly is to be posted in the XB forum then?

I have the race kit installed on my bike. Am I going to have an issue with not getting enough fuel?

The ECM will adjust itself. The only time you'll run into trouble is if you make a somewhat drastic change to the fuel CURVE needs. About the only mod I've found that really "needs" an external tuning device is the Force header.
