I have a 2003 XB9R and I'm looking to raise the triple tree a little for comfort on long distance. I don't hold the grips hard but still get cramping in my thumbs. I know you can get a riser from Heli, but looking to see if there is a more economical way to do it or just a different idea out there. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well, the LSL steering damper from American Sport Bike requires you to slide the forks down in the trees a little bit so you have a flat surface to mount to on the forks.

I haven't noticed any difference in handling. Technically it does adjust the geometry of the bike, but I'll be damned if I notice the difference.
