There are some aftermarket carbon replacement screens for it. I would get one myself, but I don't want to give up the hero blue.

there is talk of some guys switching to the Uly fly screen because it offers so much more protection, but I think you also have to change out the Aluminum mount that holds the speed-o and everything else.

it would be cool if someone with access to digital pdf copies of both the lightning and ulysses service and/or parts-assembly manuals do screen captures and post the exploded views side-by-side.

Hi Roly, didn't mean to hijack your thread w/interest assimilating ulysses components onto lightnings. You might recall this thread from a week ago:

Seems to be few products exclusively made for lightnings and still kind of a custom mod thing. For 3-4" taller protection you might consider:

Extended 3.5" Carbon Flyscreen (American Sport Bike)

Flyscreen w/Windshield (Hillbilly-Motors-Motors) I haven't heard of anyone getting one of these yet.

Zero Gravity has not released their Lightning windshields yet as far as I know.

You might want to contact them, I'm interested in what they come up with..

that would be very useful, guys have been grafting R parts on to the S and vise versa for a while now, sooner then later the Uly parts will start getting traded around too

That is an interesting idea. I might look through the Uly parts book at my local dealer tomorrow and see if I can come up with at least a parts list or maybe even get copies to put up here.

fyi, posted screenshots request in the 'big, bad & dirty' adventure section; also, noticed someone mentioned that CORBIN is going to sell a trim tab fairing (which directs air up and around you) for the uly and that they just got the windshield/fairing out of tooling.. Depending how tall you are, the stock uly setup may direct air at your torso which gets tiring on long distance highway treks for some.

someone mentioned it was probably not a good idea to post copyrighted buell parts manual pics to pursue our uly/lightning assimilation effort and i'm not interested in buying a uly cd at this time. think i'll just rig a peice of lexan up front for the badweather.
my bad. i fold. your call.

To add to the folding:

I swapped emails with the Laminar Lip folks back in July. It seems they won't sell a 'universal' with a sporty curvature, or recommend one of their products for fitting to a Firebolt, unless someone first brings their scoot out to the Laminar shop for a proper fitting.

I appreciated their dedication but was frustrated by the distance from southwest Michigan to SoCal and back... I eventually bought a Saeng Wing-Tip in August. They had catalog listings/product recommendations for Firebolts, though they're priced a bit higher than the competition. I will post a review later this fall. I still haven't had time to install it, let alone go for a decent ride with the thing in place.
