I spent an hour or so with the wonderful paint pens from http://www.wot-designs.com They provided me with 2 different sized tip pens, which made the little letters easy to paint.

Too much up-keep for me.
Done it before on my X1, but shortly gets dirty and needs another aplication. The good thing is that the next aplications go on much faster than the first.

I went with Silver on this bike. On my old S2 I did white lettering... it quickly turned silver (dirty white).

I don't see that it would hurt if the grooves were done on the tread. They are just there to let water escape. If water didn't escape, then it could be a problem.

Two or three times a year? On the same set of tires? I usually go through two sets of tires per year per bike (I have two).

I like the painting idea. Might have to do that to my Ducati as it's my "pretty" bike. : )
