I purchase a 2004 XB9R at a wreck car auction in SC
a month ago i fixed a couple of problems(broken rear subframe, one peg) but other than that the bike is ok except for road rash on some of the plastics for which i don't care to much..it's an inexpensive ride and last week i was at Deals gap and enjoy it a lot.But the bike when i bought it had a streetfighter big bore exhaust and i think an aftermarket ecu(under the passenger seat)it is very loud and i have some studering in any gear at around 4000rpm but if i put the full throttle
it,s fine after just a little studder, the light
for the injection is almost always on.Since i live near Montreal,Qc...i'm wondering if anyone knows a good mechanic who knows is way around Buell engines.Any help would be appreciate.
thanks.
P.S Does anyone knows the original owner?
2004 Blue XB9R 3000miles with a new set of Michelin Powers
Streetfighter big bore exhaust, was at an auction in Columbia SC and was insured by GMAC insurance. If you know who it belong to let me know so i can ask him a few questions about the mods on his bike.

Good luck with that header holding together.
They're not known for long life.
Sounds like a PCIII module under the seat.
If it were me I'd use the stock header, and a quality muffler, with Buell Race ECM, and sell the PCIII. A lot less trouble. But that's just me.
If you do find a tuner, it'll cost about $300 to get it tuned in properly.
Sorry I wasn't much help.
Good luck with the bike, and ride safe.

Ah, Montreal! You're only about an hour or so north of me (Burlington, VT).

I don't know who's up in Canada for dealers, but I know for me I have to take it to Meredith, NH. It's about 125 miles away, but they're a great Buell dealership.

I've found that the stock header seems to be the best (short of something like Micron's pipe - but we're waiting on dyno numbers for that).

I've got a Power Commander and love the bike since I made the switch - even without tuning it.
