I'm getting ready to change my tires tomorrow. I was wondering if anyone knows the size of the allen socket that fits in the end of the axle shaft? Are the front and rear the same size? They look like about 19mm to me. No, I don't have the tool kit. When I purchased my XB12S, I got it used and there wasn't a tool kit with it. Thank you for any help.

front axle is reverse thread. CW to loosen.
Note: the little tool kit normally resides under the seat, previous owner may not have even known it was there. many DEALERS dont even know its there. the nearest HD/Buell dealer was unable to even remove the seat from the demo model(s), and after carefully explaining that this particular XB9R model was capable of attaining 160 miles per hour, cheerfully sent me (all 135 pounds) on my way for an extended demo ride with whatever random suspension setting came out of the factory crate. I think this could be considered negligence.

Hey, that's what the speedo says. Everyone knows that the highest number on the speedo is how fast the bike can go!

That's how I impress little kids and dumb goomba's in my neighborhood:

"hey yo, how fast is you bike?"

"look for yourself."

"oh damn, 160! that sh*t is faaaast!"

"yup"

LOL
