How fast are the XB`s running the 1/4 mile. The mags say high 12`s to low 13`s. Thats as fast as some of the new cars. I thought they were much faster than that?

The short wheelbase makes the launch very difficult making for a long 60 foot time.

If you want a 1/4 mi bike...the Buell is not your ticket to low times...but the challenge of the launch, beating your last best time, and speeding without the po-po's to ruin your day its perfect!

I took mine out, and with no previous track experience was able to run a 13.1 on my second run. The only mods at the time was the race kit, and my weight at the time was about 250lbs.

12.200s@112.49mph

A lot of fun, but these bikes are NOT meant for the strip.

At that point, the bike had a Buell Factory Race Kit on it, and about 145 pounds of me.

I've always questioned the Motorcyclist data on the Cityx. It always seemed a little slow to me considering that just a few months before the city cross data was published, they had an '02 firebolt running 11.7's. The hp/torque figures really took a plunge too, down to 72/53 I believe.
