Yet Another Power Commander Thread ...

What, if any, advantage would a race ecm have over a stock ecm with a PC?

I'm getting one for my XB9, including the hipo o2 sensor. It came off an xb9 with the same mods as mine, except he's running the stock can and I have a drummer. It was tuned on a dyno, but I'll get it back once I have my stack installed.

'nuther question.

Backfire. Lean, rich or either? Or something else?

Does an intake leak causes backfires?

I installed the PCIII with hipo o2 sensor. Backfires and stumbles and runs rough. I'm getting it tuned on the dyno as soon as I get the new stack. I'm gonna leave the bike in the garage until then. Just wanna know what causes it.

Thanks.

when I put my PC3 on I did some dyno time(one or two runs ) then I had a 4000 mile trip to leave for. What I dont was run a tank of gas and see what milage I got then made manual adjustments and I done that till I had a chance to get it back on the Dyno. Which is this morning but I went from getting 180 miles on a tank to now 145-155 just by making manual adjustments. Made a lot of diffenece in running conditions and power range. I went from NOT being able to ride a wheelie to now having trouble keeping the front end down. I knew something was wrong when I had trouble riding a wheelie.

Ingemar, I just adjusted mine to run a little rich on low/mid/high until I can get a dyno tune and a good map. Runs great! I have a 12.

the bonus of having the "RACE" ecm is if the powercomander fails you have something to fall back on

same thing with the TFI

thats why i'll sell a download as well as tfi for a customer who wants a tfi

ive seen alot of powercomander failures as well as a few tfi failures

some had a download (read race ecm) some didnt

the time to diagnose this problem can be high

just my 2c
