Hi,

I am going to be working and was wondering if someone can ask Buell a question or two during the live chat...

Why doesn't the XB's come with a Helment lock?
The older models did..

And why can't Buell put some nuts on the rear swingarm like almost every other motorcycle so you can use a rear stand for maintenance?

Even sale the bolts and stand as a race only part. Instead of making more chrome and black parts.

thanks..

1. The XB's do come with a helmet lock. Check your tool kit.

2. I dunno, maybe someone will be able to ask for you.

Huh? That's news to me and I'm sure maaaany others.

On the swingarm - Darkhorse Moto race style axle sliders. Yeah, you are looking for something from the factory, already on the bike, I know... But the DH Sliders are so nice.

You just use a different type rear stand. I sell tons of them. They lift right off the bottom of the swingarm.

A helmet lock is only going to keep honest people from taking your helmet, and they aren't going to take it in the first place.
Locking your helmet is kind of like locking a convertible. You lock your convertible, you still get all your stuff stolen but you get the added bonus of getting to buy a new top.

Pit Bull sells a variety of stands that don't require spoils. I have a forward facing model that allows me to lift the rear from the front while holding the handlebar end.

Spools - threaded spool mounts are welded to the swingarm itself - is a much more stable way of lifting the rear. I've used both spools and "under swingarm" lifts, and spools is definitely the way to go if at all possible

Dark Horse sliders with "spools" is a good alternative, but unfortunately prevents you from removing the rear wheel with the bike on the stand.

I'll second the request for spools.

Just went down and double checked. No lock or wire loop. No mention in the user manual.

I made my own...

What tool kit are you guys talking about. I have a 2003 and it doesn't have a helmet lock in it. Can someone post a picture as to what you guys are talking about.

My tool kit came with a rear spring wrench and a tork wrench. That's it.....

rd, it should have had a plug wrench and a 7/8 adapter for the axles in there too.

The "helmet lock" was no longer there when I bought my bike either. from the sound of it we aren't missing much in that department

I bet that the helmet lock on the uly can be purchsed seperately and attached somewhere to the other bikes by pop rivets if necessary. Just a thought.....
