I'm looking at buying the cheaper of the two Craftsman cycle jacks. Does anyone have one of these? Do you need to make a cradle to fit the pipe so you can lift it? If so does anyone have the dimensions of said cradle to make life easier for me? Thanks in advance!

Yes you do have to make a new cradle. The radius of the pipe is 4". Drop the cradle as low as you can go on the jack so you can roll the jack under the bike while it is on its side stand. Having a radius cradle supports the bike really well and it is very stable. I would also suggest glueing some rubber on it for traction.
