That will be a very cool looking take on the XB once complete.

Which highway pegs are you running on that bike?

It's times like these, reading this thread, that I am reminded how dull I really am.....and that there are people WAY smarter roaming the planet. I wish I could do this kind of stuff.

Hey - cool!

Complete with 3D printing and laser scanning - awesome!

I got to setup, install and train about 10 people at my last job on a FARO laser scanner and we had 3 probing arms to supplement our Mitutoyo CMM.

We were almost going to go with blue light scanning but chose the laser after all to satisfy both the forgings and SpaceX stuff we were working on!

Just received the seat printed on HP MJF from nylon black. The seat looks amazing with nice flat black injection molded like finish.

I'm still waiting metal CNC machined seat frame parts and once I will have received them I can start turning this ugly mother f ucker to sexy bitch.

Prototype vs final product

It looks like this guy worked on some Buell XB CAD models so he might have something to share?

https://www.studioalbertidesign.com/buell-transpor tation-design

It looks like Buell XB had name Venom before release.

Maybe . . . . .but, there are a host of factual errors...including spelling Erik’s name wrong.

If that’s Erik on the bike I’d say he’d gained a lot of weight at the time.

But, the other faces in the crowd look like the actual design team.

I have reverse engineered the 2009 Buell XB12 engine top end. Here is the CAD model

https://grabcad.com/library/2009-buell-xb12-engine -top-end-1

You also can use the interactive 3D model of the Buell XB engine on the GrabCAD to find the part number of the component you need just simply clicking on it in the 3D view in you web-browser. No need to use the parts catalogue anymore!

I reverse engineered the Buell XB fan so you can use the fan CAD model.
