I'm anxious to read the press opinions, especially after CW's raves about the Uly... Has anyone seen any reviews? Or has anyone ridden a Long yet??
I can't get any ETA from my nearest dealer other than "the first of the year." *sigh*

Rider Magazine has a picture on the cover this month with a review.

AMA has this as a side note in their Uly review:

Lightning Long: A relaxed-fit Buell for more comfort

While the Ulysses has gotten almost all the attention, Buell also has another new model for 2006.

The XB12Ss Lightning Long is identical to previous Lightnings except it gets the same 23.5-degree fork and 54-inch wheelbase as the Ulysses. Those changes can be appreciated in their own right, but they allow for something previously unheard-of in the Buell line—a thick, wide, comfortable seat.

So with the new Lightning Long ($10,495), having streetfighter attitude doesn't have to be a pain in the butt.

The one on the floor at the Harley shop sure is nice. You'll not have trouble being seen on it. It's very orange. I like the big spongy seat especially.
Finally got to play with the new oil filler cap. Very trick. Makes me wonder what the price of a '06 swingarm would be for my '05 CityX. Standard length, of course.

Wot's he on about? Buells have had nice seats since at least 1999.

Checked and it's the September issues of Rider Magazine. I just went to the book store the other day and picked up any magazine with Buells on the cover.

Rider had some nice things to say about the XB12Ss
