I can not say enough about the help from (Henery Dugga)(Sp?) factory Buell. I have had some issues and they have bent over backward to help me. The same goes for Walt Sipp. I had more issues on Saturday and Henery got me a voltage regulator. Walt offered one as well. Barber was a 3 region race combined with FUSA. It was BIG! Team M4 , Roadracingworld.com, Rober Jensen , Jeff Wood, etc. Racing a Buell has been a dream of mine for a long time and it has been the best thing ever! I drove down to Alabama (10 hours) and got there 230 in the morning on Thursday. I got a couple of hours sleep and then did the track day. It was the first time there so it was a real experience. I think Barber is by far the best track in the whole US at this point. Henery introduced me to the riders at Hals and we got some engine ideas for next year. The riders at Hals are super friendly. I learned the track pretty quickly , I left the track diagram on my desk all last week so I could get an idea which way it turned. Friday AM Thunder Bike (1st Place) I won the race after much debate on if I should run rain tires or slicks. Running the slicks was the right choice! Another guy and I ran off from the pack and I lead the whole race. It got red flagged on the 4th lap, so the race was ended early. The only bad thing was I did not get to see Walt the the Hals guys run because I was on the track at the same time. Walt put a great time in and got 5th in the EX class. AM GT Lights (2nd place) I battled a guy on a SV650 from Speed Werks. Those guys build a mean SV and he could really ride. I usally use this race as extra practice before Thunder Bike. It was after so , 1/2 way in I settled for second . We came up and passed 10+ experts and it did not seem as safe as I would like. Saturday AM LW SuperBike (2nd Place) The race was re-started 3 times. It was super hot and I got to see a SV burn to a crisp on the track. It was more of the same as the day before 3 of us battled and I lead for a bit. I fought hard to get second on the 3rd re-start. Once I got by him I open up the gap but I had some trouble passing through the Expert class. My brother Diablobrian was a great help. He brought his family and fellow badweather member Brenden and his wife. I look forward to the next race in the Chi-town area and more than anything getting my Expert satus back and racing FUSA next year. Michael |

Thats so cool, I'm glad to see people living their dreams. Some people just dream and the others try to make it happen. I'll be watching and rootin' for you. |

It was definitely a great weekend. Anyone that has the chance needs to visit the Barber Museum. The whole facility is AMAZING. My hat is off to George Barber, thanks for letting us use your playground. Henry Duga, with Buell Race Support, was great, he came by our pits and talked with us, made suggestions, and offered help when/if needed. That sort of factory support is not happening from ANY other factory at this level of racing. He really came through for us on saturday when we ran into trouble with our voltage regulator. The race also afforded me the opportunity to see some friends that i hadn't seen in over a year. Thanks for making the trip Gearheart, also known as Brenden, and Tadja. It was great to see you again, and congrats again on your engagement. Michael gave a very good review of the races themselves. The saturday LW superbike race turned into a marathon event due to multiple crashes and a sv650 / bonfire. It was somewhere near 100deg F, They had all the racers waiting on the grid in the full leathers while cleaning up the messes. The racers showed a lot of commitment and a high degree of training and endurance. I kept myself busy running a water bottle relays on our little pit bike for Michael. A lot of racers out there did not have this luxury and had to wait for the track staff to bring water around. In all Buell made a really good showing this past weekend, I was happy to play my admittedly small part in it. |
