I know this has been discussed a million times, but I am having trouble finding Amsoil and Mobil 1 v-twin oil. Anyone have any suggestions on where to get either of them? I am just looking for 20w-50. Thanks in advance. |

Could you narrow that down just a wee bit more for us? Maybe a website address? |

It does not answer the question but some of us are running 15w50 because it is much easier to find and less expensive too. As far as I can figure out, the difference between 15 and 20 is not that signifigent. The 15w50 can be found at Walmart in 5 quart jugs for around $25. I run the Mobil 1 75w90 in the primary, that I find at a auto parts store ($7 a quart?). Jack |

I prefer Mobil One for the simple reason that when I was a kid the Amway man came to our neighborhood every week trying to sell his wares and bring in new salesman. He was really pushy and always put down any product that wasn't Amway. I always thought it was some weird cult that sold dish washing soap and motor oil and was trying to take over the free world one quart at a time. I still do. I've used auto barn before with good results. http://www.autobarn.net/mobil1store.html (Message edited by bubabuell on August 14, 2005) |

Hi Deuceman, all, I can hook you up with Amsoil. They just released a new formula, MCV. From the Amsoil site: "AMSOIL MCV is recommended for Harley Davidson®, Buell®, Victory®, Ducati®, Aprilia®, BMW®, Triumph® and other motorcycles where 15W-50 or 20W-50 engine oils or SAE 90, GL-1 gear oils are used." As I said, I can get Amsoil for you but I can also show you how you can order it direct at the same discount I get. If anyone is interested, email me. Tom |

Bubabuell, Amsoil and Amway have nothing to do with each other. Amway is based out of Michigan somewhere, Amsoil is headquartered in Superior, Wisconsin. |

Buba, S'ok, I can see how someone could make that mistake. I'm with you though, except I just use Mobile1 because its easier to get. |

The couple that just got captured after a violent (deadly) court room escape got caught because they told the taxi driver that took them to their hotel hideaway they were going to an Amway convention. He did not believe them becasue they did not try to push products on him...... So he called the police. LMFAO! |

I had a 13 man watch section once when I was in the Navy and 7 of them were selling Amway products. I was the supervisor, I finally made it a standing rule that the first time I heard anyone mention the word Amway or any Amway product, they would be responsible for holding field days in our working spaces until I heard somebody else say it. That worked pretty good. I got the idea from reading about the medevial Spanish town that had one small cell for criminals. When they caught a criminal they put them in the cell. If someone was already in the cell, that person got hung to make room for the new prisoner. It worked good there. I think it would work good here too. Like one cell per county with all justice administered at that level. Oh yeah, and one in Washington, DC too. Jack |

In my personal experience with Amsoil I had the WORST customer service ordeal imaginable. I really liked the products but the way I was treated by Amsoil after they screwed up and TRIPLE charged me for one order made me vow never to buy from them again. Good product, shabby customer treatment in my case. |

Either Amsoil or Mobil-1 is fine. I am a "preferred customer" of Amsoil so I get the oil for about $5 something a quart. But when Mobil-1 is on sale around here I often get the 15W-50 auto oil, which seems to transfer heat as well as the Amsoil. The Sam's Club and Walmart around here stopped carrying Mobil 15W/50. Dang. But they still have the Buell ST4967 oil filter, now $2.07 |

Mobil-1 has a specially formulated 15W/50 oil for v-twin motors. As far as I know, that IS NOT sold at Wal-Mart. My local Wal-Mart sells the 15W/50 for automobiles. |

Try Max - Cycle Royal Purple 20w-50. Specifically formulated for American V-Twins. Ask Nallin Racing about it. From what I understand, that is all they use. I have used it in all of my bikes. Todd |

I use the Mobil1 15W-50 Engine Oil in the crankcase, and Mobil1 75W-90 Gear Oil in the tranny. |
