Hey did anyone else have problems fitting their lift under a XB? I have to push a bit, and I can't for the life of me see how people squeeze a lift with a board and supports on top of the lift sheesh, I even tried to bleed excess air out. HELP! | ||

Bakadoh, mine is the same way, have to push just a little nothing to bad. I agree there is no way to use boards or custom cut pieces to fit under the muffler. It would make it so tall you would have to use another lift just to put the bike on the craftsman lift. | ||

Thanks Vaxb... the $50 kragen POS lift that I took back, fit under it, but was nowhere near the lift points. | ||

You have to roll both tires onto 2X6 wood boards which lifts the bike high enough to slide the lift and platform underneath. Remember to also have a board handy for the side stand. | ||

Also, the board with the brackets has to be slid lengthwise under the bike to clear the muffler, after you already have the lift in place. | ||

Ahh, another nicety of the D&D, bit less shallow, and flat bottomed!! No boards, no ramps, get my Craftsman lift under it no problem while on the sidestand. JUST my .02 Bruce | ||

I made a pair of custom lifts from some old Japanese car jacks...cheap and work great (but not terribly stable--gotta make sure the bike is stabilized separately). | ||

I use the craftsman lift only when I need the front off the ground or I taking both wheels off for tire replacement. The easiest method for me is to Pit Bull the rear up and then slide 'er in like a gentleman. Or I give my parents a holler and have them lift the bike up. Just kiddin' I wish I had never bought the damn ATV jack because it takes up a lot of garage space. (Message edited by jasonxb12s on August 12, 2005) | ||

I use a swingarm lift and hang the front end from the rafters in my garage when I change the front wheel. Cherry picker works great for front end also | ||

I use a cradle also, but chopped it in half. So the lift can slide under the exhaust ,then the other half of the cradle goes on.. sort of like blocking a tire on both sides. Sorry no pic's. |
