Hi All,

Has anyone received a select seat yet and installed it?

I'm looking make sure it does 2 things before I order one from Dave, increase the seat height and stop my girl from sliding forward when we stop and crushing my nuggys up against the "tank".

If you have one can you measure the seat height and get back to me. Also, you could you tell me if it stops the well known XBs nut crunch.

Tom

I'm curious on the height as well, if its a little taller than stock and not as flat/tall as the CityX 'skyline' then it sounds like the perfect height i'm looking for.

Looks really cool in the pics, way better styling than all the other ones out there.

I'll have to order a Streetfighter very soon if we don't get some reviews of the Select.

Alternately, I'm going to get the Select and sell it to one of you guys if I don't like it.

I'm still waiting on mine.
It's been about two weeks since I ordered it & there's a 30 day lead time so I should have it in about three more weeks.

I too am hopping it'll increase ride height & add some cushy comfort. Even though I can (just) flat foot a standard height S, I intentionally bought a cg so I could throw any seat I want on it & still have the feet planted firmly. The select looks like it'll be about right. The low seat is just way too hard on the bumpy alligatored roads I ride.

When my Select seat arrives I'll let you know how it is.

And if the Select seat is too LOW for any of you, let me know and I can go ahead and order it, because I am only gonna order one if it does not increase height much, as I'm on my toes as it is.

On a side note, I determined last evening that the sheepskin pad I put on my SB9SX seat 'cause of butt pain also provided a good amount of insulation from engine heat - I know it sounds like common sense, but it did a good enough job that the pad would be worth it simply to serve that purpose.

I sat on the Select seat at the Dealer Show in Denver. I ride an XB12Scg, but I sat on the stock XB12S with the Select Seat at the show. From my experience, I think that the seat height might be a hair higher than stock. I was able to touch the ground pretty well even on the XB12S, even with short legs. (I have a 27" inseam.)

Interesting, that says the Select seat has "SaddleGel" and "special foam". That Saddlegel might be something like/same as the material used in the ProPad stuff.

I'm working on getting the seat on my M2 where I can stand to ride it and I'm at the point where reupholstering with newer/better closed cell foam and a Propad insert might be my next move.

You'd think if Buell was going to look for a market for improved seats that they might also think of older bikes like the tubers (and older posteriors like mine, too). You youngsters, you get everything now...
