I just called as well, they told me that the initial price "guessed" at by manufacturing put the price around $1199, but they are still getting the pipes in and finalizing prices, so they really do not have the final price yet. Looks like it is going to be less then the $1199, given the UK prices, have to assume they will stay close to each other...? Said they should have the final pricing next week. CJ |

We've been talking with Micron a bit about the news full system, and will carry it at American Sport Bike, assuming that it is as good as it seems to be. I've asked for the dyno plots and such, they are in the process of producing them on US bikes now. It's a lot of coin, so it better bring something to the table that the slip-ons don't. Looks promising so far. Al |

Other full systems are running about that price too. I hope they back that down a bit. I am NOT paying $200 per 1 HP gain. Especially since the pipe is apparently selling for ALOT less than that in Europe. I would be cheaper to buy one from trojan and have it shipped here. You would still have enough left to buy a FAST system. (Message edited by indy_bueller on August 14, 2005) |

A friend of mine is running that prototype pipe right now testing is slated for this coming week, pipe sounds good but needs quite a bit of help with fueling. stay tuned J |

*ring* Sorry to be a needle in the finger, but those bends still look like crap to me.. The last thing I want to hear someone say about my 1200$ exhaust system is... "Damn man.. you have to pinch it down to make it fit?" Just doesn't look cosmetically "straight" to me. And for 200$ a hp, I'll buy heads, cams, pistons, and a new crank! |

guys get the muffler from american motorcycles, the D&D. that is the loudest pipes and great performance. I get compliments all the time. i don't work for american motorcycle just in case. i will defenetly get those pipes again when i get a new buell. |

The D&D is not the loudest. |

Frausty the bends are supposed to look like that. It's called the Serpent system, Micron hydro-forms the headers for maximum volumetric efficiency. And while the D&D is the loudest, it is not necessarily the best performing muffler either. (Message edited by Nasty73z on August 15, 2005) |

The force and a few more from Hill-Billy are louder. The Force is a LOT louder. |

Nasty73z, I understand that it's supposed to look like that, just can't seem to "accept" the appearance. And from the dyno charts, it's not really a BIG gainer in hp or torque over some of the modded factory cans, or even aftermarket stand alone cans. Just can't see spending money on something that doesn't "look" right, and doesn't produce enough performance gain to warrant the price tag. Maybe it's just me.. |

Wouldn't you actually have to have something in the pipe to muffle the sound in order to call it a muffler? I think the Force simply qualifies as a pipe. A loud, fun, track day kinda pipe! |

NOTHING compares to the sound of the Force. No sound clips can prepare you for the assualt on your eardrums. My D&D is quiet next to the Force. The service writer of my local dealership has the Micron on his 04 XB12R (see pics above from BuellJ79). While I have not heard this pipe in person, Jeremy says it rivals the deep note of the D&D.} |

It's kinda funnny . You know how the XB will drown out the IL4's... My Force drowns out the D&D. Granted, I can't stand the power delivery in the low revs (or lack of power delivery as it were) so I finally got around to swapping my PCIII map back over to the Drummer and swapped the pipes yesterday. MUCH better . |

The Becin is supposed to be louder than the force. It supposedly has been banned off of some tracks. The Micron does rival the deep note but it has a different sound witch I would attribute to the design, 2 pipes straight through, no collector from what I can see J |

That's what I've heard too... About the Becin. I'd really like to hear one. I had forgotten about it though. |

I've been there . They have some parts I may buy. Specifically their ceramic bearings and maybe a crank. I'd like to bore the cases, get the right jugs and usea custom crank to get to 1350 with the largest bore bossible. Then I'll run an XB9 ECM. Of course, this would include headwork and all of that stuff. |

Isnt a 1450 the largest possible in those jugs? according to nhrs J |

Yeah... but that's not what I want . "I'd like to bore the cases, get the right jugs and use a custom crank to get to 1350 with the largest bore bossible. " The NRHS 88" kit is actually 1442 though as I recall. Close enough I suppose . The largest bore (3-13/16" I think) combined with the stock stroke is 88". I'm not sure exactly what stroke length I need, but I know I want 1350cc. |

The dyno charts for the Micron system were done on STANDARD Buell XB9S and XB12R models. No other mods were made to these bikes at all. Bear this in mind when looking at some other manufacturers dyno charts, where the bike is already fitted with a race kit or other mods. With only a little work in the airbox dept and on fuellig the Micron figures would be even more impressive. |

I have just spoken to Micron in the UK regarding the system, and development of the European model will continue for a little longer so that it can gain 'E' markings for legal road use. US customers should contact Micron USA www.micronexhaust.com for current news on pipes and prices. |

'E' markings? Is that for noise? Maybe I want one of the Euro exhausts. I want performance, but not quite as loud as everything I've heard so far, and not as quiet as stock. |

The E marked is the European wide recognised standard for most products. If an exhaust complies with this then it is legal in all European countries for noise etc. Details are not available yet on how Micron will achieve this, but I expect it to be similar in concept to the Remus/Sebring route of having removeable baffles in the end pipes. With the baffles in place the noise is better (louder) than the stock pipe without attracting too much unwanted attention from the Boys in Blue. |

Chris, I have 5 systems on the way here now. Intro pricing, which will not last long, is $699. I don't have the number that it will jump to after the initial systems are gone. Our Part number is 9085, it will be up on the web site later this week. I'll have them in stock within a week. Unfortunately, the only dyno data I have is what you see above, and I don't have Air/Fuel plots yet. Al |
