Been waffling; wanted an XB12S but didn't want to spend the money, not big bucks anyways. Studied the market. Looked all over; Ebay, Cycle Trader, etc.. Saw a generic looking ad for a black '04 w/race kit in the local Sunday paper a couple of weekends ago. Called and found that the bike had only 100 miles on it. Still on the first tank of fuel! Seller looking to move it due to divorce. Test drove the bike, very nice. A few scratches from a low speed incident, nothing serious. Signed up here and posted some questions regarding the race kit. Got answers, nice people! Finally went back and looked at it again tonight. It must have been a combination of the nice sound and the nubs still on the tires that motivated me to make an offer. Got the bike for a real decent price. Pick it up tomorrow. Never had a Buell or Harley, although I've rode them. Always been a rice rocket guy. This should be interesting! Anybody know what the process is for transferring the warranty?

The bike was originally bought at Hal's. I'll call them tomorrow regarding the warranty transfer. Thanks!

Ask Hal's about the break-in procedure.

There are TWO parts of it that are vital:
(1) The motor/tranny get properly broken-in.
(2) YOU have proper time to learn how to correctly ride the XB before going and doing something stupid..

Mike,
The owner's manual has a card as the last page that you'll want to fill out that is the warranty transfer to a new owner. Be sure to get the manual and the card, talk to Hal's and make sure that they know the transfer took place, just in case you have a warranty claim (which you shouldn't). Post often, give us any questions, break her in properly and get to know the bike. Welcome to the sickness!

According to your profile, you live in the best town in the world to own a Buell. Shoot me a PM after you pick it up, we'll go out for a spin!

I would change the fluids right away also. If it has been sitting a lot (obviously it has) it might have accumulated some moisture. No big deal, but might as well get it out.
