Suggestions on a replacement battery for my '03 XB9SL? Or should I just get one at the dealer? Seems 2 years and this battery is "toast".
TIA

get a buell battery.

Let me ask how often you ride your bike?

If you dont ride to much the purchase a battery tender jr to keep it on charge while you not riden. The life of a battery depends on if the bike is riden or sitting up

Go to batteries plus a replacement is around $45.

Buell battery... Figured as much. My riding is not for daily transport, so not as much as I'd like. Few thousand a year... How long should the battery last? Guess I'll be going to the dealer for a battery this week!

My stock battery lasted about 19thousand miles, or about 9 months. But I think my stator going out killed it. Replaced the stator with a stock one and the battery with a YUSA one. If you're not riding much, I'd go with a tender as well.

I see where this one is going.

1) How do you know it's toast?
2) Did you check your stator and voltage regulator?

Don't replace the battery until you make sure your voltage regulator and stator are OK.

PS: The OEM HD battery is about the best you can get.

If anybody is interested, I have my original Buell battery available. I had some electrical gremlins at my bike's 1st birthday and thought battery, so bought a new HD AGM battery and still had the issues. Since removing it from the bike, it's been on a Battery Tender Jr.

I concur, the H-D AGM battery is about the best you can get. Be sure to have your ENTIRE charging system checked out to ensure that your stator, rotor & regulator are on par. If they are, invest in a battery tender. My 2002 S3T is still on it's ORIGINAL battery thanks to the H-D/Deltran battery tender. I may be biased, but I've seen aftermarket batteries quality, and they just don't compare. Worth the extra $$$
