I know this topic has been discussed before and there is information in the knowledge vault. What I would like to know is whether or not anyone has been able to get any meaningful data from one of these gauges.

I recently installed a PCIII on my XB9S and now I want to fine tune the map. Any suggestions? I could trial and mostly error for years with the number of variable there are to set...

Dynojet has the Wideband Commander but you would have to weld a bung to the header and run two 02 sensors because I don't think the WideBand 02 sensor will work with the Buell ECM. I also think that from my reading of the TechnoResearch diag tool you can record up to a five minute run and analyze the data, this may require a PDA device.

I have the Technoresearch VDST but don't recall reading that it will record. It will give you real-time feed back of the air-fuel ratio.

Do you remember where the recording option is? Being able to record five minutes of run time would fix me up!

There is a wideband O2 sensor and controller available in the USA now for 199 plus you'll need a readout/gauge/LED bar meter on top of that. I haven't heard one bad report about it. Might be overkill for what you need but will do exactly what you want and doesn't have to be permanently installed on the bike. Just for your info. I don't think a wideband can be bought any cheaper anywhere. And it's proly cheaper than a heap of dyno runs, and you can use it as required (e.g. retune if you mod something).

Back to your question, a wideband will supply extremely meaningful data, they work so well it puts a smile on one's face. They make tuning relatively easy.

Guys,

I appreciate your posts. It does appear that the VDSTS has the capability of recording much data.

Naturally, my dongle (ahem) is not working properly at the moment. I have spoken to Giamberto at Technoresearch and he is going to reset it.

After I give it a try, I'll report back and let you know how it went.
