After I got my 03 xb9s back from 7500 maintenance the front end felt lighter. Called HD and he said changing suspension settings is not part of 7500 nor any maintenance schedule. I'm guessing the f^#r slammed a couple wheelies during the test run. Would I be jumping to conclusions or can suspension change drastically overnight? | ||

Describe what you mean by lighter? Are you good about checking tire pressure on your own? if not and they did, could this be what you are noticing There really isn't that much to do on the 7500, at least not on the XB9R. They are to check and make sure things are tight. Did they re-tork your steering bearings? | ||

Lighter, as in... when I hit the gas front-end comes up easier and just seems easier to push in the turns. Not squirrely, just effortless to turn. I normally run 36 38 as recommended. I'll reset my suspension settings later this week and get back to you. | ||

sounds like proper tire inflation which is a good thing.  | ||

Sounds like retork'd head bearings to me, check to see if they made any adjustments there. I had to call my dealer back after the 5000 mile service for the same thing, it was like jumping on a bike for the first time. Didn't react to the way that I WAS use to. They did in fact tighten the front end up a bit and that was what I was feeling. | ||

Yeah, Sounds like the dealer did a good job servicing your bike. Kudos to them, make sure you let them know that your bike is working really well after they serviced it. It's always good to hear from a satisfied customer. | ||

A few wheelies ain't gonna change your settings, or most all of us would be major experts on suspension by now. More than likely you got used to lower tire pressure. Make sure and check your tire pressure every morning while the tires are cold. You'd be amazed at what one or two pounds of lost pressure will do to front end feel. | ||

maybe you were just so phsyched to get your bike back that you got a little carried away and forgot that it doesnt take much anyway to bring the front end off. | ||

I'm guessing they may have adjusted your head bolt/bearing tension, like they should. | ||

They may have filled your front tire with helium. I hate when they do that. | ||

THANKS ALL! I tweeked my suspension settings back to spec. and checked air pressure. Feels much better, this lighter frontend. My assumption about WHEELIES was that may be he came out of a wheelie too hard and slammed it down a few times. GUESS NOT. I always make sure to go out of my way to thank my mechanics, sometimes hard to find one that will put 110% into a Buell/non-HD. |
