Hi, Well, I had another torture session with my Craftsman lift today. Got out my wood cradle, my roll up boxes, strapped it down, said my novenas and got the XB in the air. I'm getting too old for this; I want a roll on lift like at the bike shops. If you have one, tell me what one you have. How much did it cost? Where did you buy it? How was customer service? What model is it? Air or hyd? What would you change on it? Most importantly, does it work well? I don't want to buy junk; I have 7 bikes so it's going to get a lot of use. Tom | ||

Hi Tom, I just bought a "Handy" lift from Theisens Farm Store in Marshalltown Iowa. They are actually cheaper than dealer from this store as the Manufacturer has dock fees associated with dealer pricing and pickup. I bought the S.A.M. 1000 with front wheel vise and scissor lift, it was one of the best shop purchases I have ever made. I did get the air over Hyd. model, and total price with 7% sales tax was just a little over $1000.00. The scissor option is almost $200.00, but it is definatly handy to have. Steve | ||

Tom, I have the hydo snap on lift with the front wheel vise. It has a removable section on the rear that allows rear wheel removal. I dont have the model number, snap on only sells one. It was about 2300. I have also worked off a Handy or Western motorcycle lift (same lift). The snap on looks alot nicer, thats about it. Ed | ||

I have 6 motorcycles and my lift gets a lot of use... and I also have a Handy Air Lift. A group of 8 of us bought them as a package and got them delivered, with all the accessories, for $750 each. Great lift. Story: I took my primary cover off my S3 to check the primary "shoe" for wear. Of course I did this with the bike on the lift. Changed the primary oil, upgraded the shifter, adjusted the primary chain, took the bike off the lift and went for a ride. When I got home, I immediately put the bike back on the lift, lifted the bike to adjust the shifter position and recheck the primary chain & clutch adjustments. THAT is what you want from your lift. And the air compressor you buy also allows you to buy air tools, which are also very "handy".  www.handyindustries.com |
