Has anyone see one of these in action? Seem logical. On the other hand seems like it may be a gimmick. Hate getting stuck at lights until a car
comes along.

The trick is to pull up to the light, try to spot the loop under the road, then, if you are in the left lane, pull all the way to the left over the edge of the sensor. If you're in the right lane, pull all the way to the right.

As a matter of course, if I'm the only one at the light, I try to set my sidestand down on the loop. I just drop the stand and touch it down on the seam in the asphalt for a second or two and then put it back up.
The only oner it doesn't seem to work with is the stagger lights on the freeway on-ramps.

Most lights can 'see' my Buell. I am guessing the low can is what helps. On my FZ6 it is a whole different matter.

The light by my house, NEVER changes for a bike..period..

Sat there LATE one night..through..5 cycles I think..maybe more...

There were no cars in ANY direction, so said eff it..and went..

Promptly got pulled...

The cop was sitting there WATCHING me in a prking lot...

Said, well I think that light is defective...(cant make a right turn at this point int he intersection, has a littel exit ramp about 100 yards BACK)...

Anyway, he says, well you shoudl have waitied for a car to pull up along side in teh other lane..

I said a t 3 am wednsday????

He didnt give me a ticket...but got REAL close..asked if I had anythign to drink...yeah right..not on a bike...

Anyway, I know in Virginia Beach at least..the "faulty sensor" thing doesnt fly...

Oh well...*shrug*...

I was told in traffic school (yeah, yeah) that if that happens there is a line in the CVC that says if a light is inoperable it is to be treated as a four-way stop. I believe five cycles could be successfully argued as an "inoperable" light.

Check your own state laws for applicability.

Back on topic: The light on to the main drag from work won't pick up a motorcycle, period. I've run that light more than once. I just wait for it to go green arrow opposite me and make my turn also.
