99.9 percent of my terrain is dry wash beds that look just like that! (Yuma, AZ)

I made that my desktop as soon as I saw it!

I wonder what it would be like if you took it off some sweet jumps...

On the way up to Laguna Seca this year, Reindog and I took our S3's on a shortcut on Soda Lake Road, a generally level, well graded 25 mile gravel road. I was flying at a pretty good clip, hit some washboard on top of loose stuff where the road had a fair amount of crown. As the suspension hopped, the front end was sliding down the crown and I was a gnats butt from washing the front end and going down. My dirt biking experience kept me from trying to slow down to get out of it, I slid back and eased off the throttle gently and emerged unscathed.

But this XB12X would make a road like that drama-less. I'm sure I could rip down that road at 70MPH on a Ulysseys. I like taking gravel roads on occasion, and Tom and I have taken our S3's down several roads they had no business on. So this Ulysseys is going to be a gas.

I've ordered a black one, and have even reserved California Plate XB12X. Reindog ordered one too, got CA plate XB12XXX !

I think the bike gave some what they wanted.A Dual sport bike, with a bigger seat, with bags, that you can ride more COMFORTABLY for lotsa miles. So,kind of a Dual Sport Touring Bike!My only concern is how the belt may hold up running in gravel throwing rocks like the bike in the picture, but at least the belts easy to replace.

Tom,
I HAD to get it, we've already got CA XB9S for the shop lightning.

Funny thing was, CA XB12S was still available when I checked on Saturday.

Blake,
Did I really say that, or did you just THINK I said that in your 151 induced fog : ) . I THINK I'm bringing my son next year and may be trailering up rather than riding (with a BIG American Sport Bike logo on the side aimed right at the camera at the top of the corkscrew!!). But it's too soon to tell. I sure have no problem loaning you a bike, but the choice of ANY bike might be a little bit more problematic..... : )

I got CA "BUELL XB" for my 12S.

But now that AL guy weaseled my XB12X plate, forcing me to think up a new one for the X. Buell Dos Equis? Heh.
