It appears that brake dust and "other" items are staining the gray portion of my 12S chin spoiler. Anyone have any luck getting this area clean? What do you use? I've tried Simple Green, but with limited results.

yes- use bug and tar remover for the spoiler. I use it all the time. It's cheap stuff and removes stubborn road debris. It will look brand spankin' new after that. Happy cleaning/detailing!

Products used to clean brake dust off wheels will work well too.
However, I gave up, and painted mine satin black. Looks cleaner, and nicer actually with my yellow plastics, but best of all, it just wipes clean with a bit of windex .

Thanks! It looks like I have two choices... black paint or elbow grease, so I'll give elbow grease a whirl first. I have bug and tar spooge on the shelf. I was worried it would ruin/destroy the material... so, I'm off to the garage and clean my chin....... and who knows, I might be painting later!

As usual, BWB is the best place to get yer info!!

Tunes, I've used 409 or Fantastic cleaner to clean mine. Windex doesn't touch it. I have noticed a bit of color on the rag when finished so I don't use too much elbow grease...

I just gave up and leave it dirty! The rest on the bike is nice and clean!
