WHat are the ramification of running a full on race exhaust system? Like this exhaust from american racing:

Looks nice but you will most likely lose some bottom end.....(and a little hearing!!) It will undoubtedly need more fuel and air also. This would then require tuning/dyno time, etc. I think that it may be a little much for the street but that's me. Looks nice though......

The ramifications are that you will traumatize small children and scar for life the meek and mild folk wherever you go.

You need to put a o2 sensor port on it
i think other than the o2 mod it would be like tuning the force

Forget running that on the street. People were even complaining at the WSBK races last year when the Formula Extreme Buells went by (Laguna Seca). I was there and the sound was right up there with the MotoGP bikes this year. Even standing trackside you wanted earplugs.

However, there was talk of a quieter pipe in the works in the Formula Extreme Buell article in Road Racing World a while back, so there could be a quieter version available.

The Drummer and stock 12 header works as good as that pipe ...Already had it on Tilley's race bike..If you'll get the pc3 and tune it you'll be fine, and not as noisy...

This belongs in the Knowledge Vault - Engine - Exhaust topic. Will be moving it there, so don't freak when you cannot find it in the XB any longer.

Please post all tech questions to the KV.

Thanks for helping to keep the board more useful and organized for all. : )
